Walk and talk
Taking your child on a walk and talking to them about what you see on the journey is an excellent way to teach them about their surroundings.
Take a camera along with you and you are able to to take photos that can be built into a scrapbook of their findings when they get home.
A visit to the local woods, a walk along a river or even on the walk to school provide lots of opportunities to talk about the things you see.
The daily walk to school is excellent as you are able to talk about the many changes during the seasons.
Not only is a walk useful for talking, it is a great way to exercise as well.
